I designed this poster and admission tickets for the Meiners Oaks Business and Artists Association‘s fundraiser event featuring local restaurants and musicians sharing their talents in order to raise money to create and install a new Welcome sign at the main entrance to the Meiners Oaks community of the Ojai Valley. The event was so successful that we ran out of food, and raised $1,100 toward the new sign!
This was the result of a college assignment to create a social cause poster, and was created using Photoshop and Illustrator. The biggest challenge – and the part I’m most proud of – was the integration of the M16 rifle with the video game controller. The poster has never been produced or displayed outside the classroom…yet.
This was an early Photoshop-only assignment in college, which features my own photography, transparencies, and a logo that was actually drawn by hand and then scanned and manipulated.
The Foundation for American Roots Music held a holiday concert to revive the organization, and asked me to make a suite of promotional artwork for them. This is the 8.5×11″ poster, and there was also an 11×17″ version and a small grayscale ad for newspaper printing. The fine art was provided by another artist, and integrating that into my design was a fun challenge.
These flyers were all half-sheets for various small concerts in Ventura, with photographs and logos supplied by the artists. I had fun trying to capture the flavor of their diverse musical styles and themes.
